[OAI] Open Archives Metadata Harvesting protocol: beta version available

A beta version of the document describing the Open Archives Metadata
Harvesting protocol is now available at
http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/0.9/openarchivesprotocol.htm .  This
controlled release of version 0.9 of the specification is the next step
in the process leading to the public release of a version 1.0 document
due January 23rd 2001.  Two Open Meetings are planned to support the
public dissemination of version 1.0 :

* Washington DC, US, January 23rd 2001 (see

* Berlin, Germany, February 2001 (details will be available soon via
http://www.openarchives.org )
