(Apologies to those who receive this more than once)

We are pleased to announce DoIS (Documents in Information
Science). DoIS is a bibliographic database of articles and
conference proceedings published in electronic format in the
area of Library and Information Science. DoIS is based in the
RePEc (http://www.repec.org) open library model that has a large
following in the Economics discipline. In that model, publishers
of documents provide data about their documents on public access servers.
These data are available for the use in digital libraries. RePEc
has collected data about 26,000 electronic papers through 140
contributing archives. It is currently the largest distributed
library of research papers in the world.

DoIS is not quite as large yet :-) At the moment DoIS indexes
almost 1,000 documents in electronic format from the following
  publications:

  Ariadne
  Boletin de RedIris
  Bulletin des Bibliotheques de France
  CLIR Reports
  Cuadernos de Documentacion Multimedia
  D-Lib Magazine
  Journal of Electronic Publishing

DoIS is available free of charge at the url:

  Comments and contributions welcome.

  Cheers,

  Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel
