[OAI-implementers] DOCTYPE question

hi Jeff

so why would you want the DOCTYPE retained? what does it contain that 
could be useful to others?

also, if it's a DTD, i suspect that once you embed this within an OAI 
response, the "DOCTYPE" will/should change.
